APPROPRIATE ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF’S CHECKLIST

Before the first day

Ensure that the room/workstation is fully equipped and set up, including stationery and PC.

 


Advise UWA Whois Directory of staff member’s commencement via directory@uwa.edu.au

 


Advise other relevant staff of the staff member’s commencement e.g

  • Faculty admin secretary
  • School staff, including
  • Administrative staff
  • Central admin staff

 


On the first day

Issue any appropriate keys

 


Show where to access stationery and describe procedures for ordering stationery.

 


In the first week

Outline structure of administrative staff

 


Discuss any relevant office procedures e.g

  • Photocopying
  • Maintenance requests
  • Records management/filing system
  • Typing for staff
  • Telephone messages
  • Mail

 


Security Information

 


Organise photograph for noticeboard (if relevant)

 


Advise the staff member as to how they can obtain a campus card

 


In the first month

Provide continuing assistance to ensure that the staff member becomes comfortable with the administrative processes of the School
