School Manager/Central Administration Manager

The information below forms the basis of an introduction to the School Manager or Central Admin Manager position. It is intended to provide a starting point for contacts and information on your major responsibilities. Links to some information will appear more than once if they are relevant to more than one activity you may be expected to do. For information that is relevant to all new staff please see the main Induction area.

On commencement you will need access to your local unit IT network, email and a number of Central Administration systems. A variety of forms are used to achieve this. See below.

IT systems

· Speak to your local IT support officer re organizing your email and network access.

· Administrative Computing Services (ACS) access is required before you can get access to some of the systems you will need. Links to some of these (such as the Student Records System (SRS), HR system (Alesco - formerly known as Concept) and Financial System (PeopleSoft) are available from this site.

· UWA IT policies

An electronic version of the UWA Contact Directory is available on the web. This is a valuable resource for search for either an individual staff member or student or staff within an area.

It is recommended that you attend the following forums:

· Senior Managers Forum - held on the third Monday of each month (normally in Geography Lecture Theatre 2) from 4:00-5:00pm

· University Manager's Group (UMG). Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month (in the Economics and Commerce Conference room, 3rd floor, Economics Building) from 3:30-5:00pm.

· Faculty and School management meetings - for your local area. (Contact your supervisor or Faculty Manager for further information.)
